Usakara-kun, an original Umaibo from Usa City, Oita Prefecture. I was looking forward to eating it, but…

I was looking forward to it because I got “Umaibo” which is only available in Usa City.

　

I never thought I’d see you come out of the inside

The event “Noroyokoisenkae” was held last March in Usa City, Oita Prefecture, by renting out a cooking class nearby (see the link below for details).

This year, it was not held due to a certain virus. Quite a shame because I was looking forward to it.

While I was thinking “I wanted to eat shiitake mushroom gozen this year”, I received a set of promotional items from the cooking class that arrived from Usa City.

If I look at the contents, there are pamphlets and booklets introducing the good things about Usa City. As I watched, I thought, “This is going to be a great learning experience,” but what bothered me the most was the “Usakara-kun” snack inside.

It’s already “Umaibo” as you can see. When I took a closer look at the package, I found that it says “Original Umaibo”.

It’s already a completely limited flavor. “I’m sure you can’t eat it unless you go to Usa City in Oita,” I said, and I kept it so that I could have it when the time came.

The other day I said, “Should we get some food?” I took out the photo again. Since it’s called “Usakara-kun”, I wonder if it must be fried. I opened the package with the thought that I was going to have to do something.

What came out from inside was the unexpected “Umaibo Corn Potage Flavor”. “Huh? Are you kidding me?” I was appalled. It’s a bit… no, it’s a shock because I was looking forward to it quite a bit.

Of course it was delicious, but can we say “that it was “original”?”　If we hold it next year, we’ll need to discuss it. lol

Thank you very much for the meal. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten it, but I was relieved to find that it was as delicious as ever. When I get settled in, I’m going to go buy some at a small candy store.
